Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and driven Recruiter with a
strong background in sourcing and hiring for a wide range of skilled trades roles for leading commercial refrigeration and HVAC services for grocery, medical and cold storage facilities.
This position plays a critical role in building a reliable, high-performing workforce across multiple trades disciplines. Experience working in a union environment is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop targeted recruiting strategies for skilled trades technician roles
  • Source, screen, and manage candidates for union positions, ensuring compliance with labor agreements and company policies.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for various trades including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC-R, and other technical fields.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, resume reviews, interviews, offers, and onboarding coordination.
  • Develop relationships with trade schools, unions, apprenticeship programs and industry organizations to support long-term talent acquisition strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Provide labor market insights and data-driven recommendations to improve hiring outcomes and workforce planning.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience recruiting for skilled trades roles
  • Proven success sourcing candidates in commercial refrigeration or HVAC-R is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of union labor practices and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with ATS platforms and recruitment tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience recruiting across multiple trades disciplines (e.g., electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC-R or refrigeration industry).
  • Familiarity with regional union structures and trade certifications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds; noise level is usually moderate. All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride-along with a field technician as part of their employment.

Target Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 USD
