IBT is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Accountant specializing in project accounting managing the financial aspects of specific projects, ensuring accurate and compliant financial records from budgeting to completion. This involves tracking costs, preparing project-specific financial reports, and collaborating with project managers, vendors and owners to keep projects on budget, ensure vendor payments and the collection of accounts receivables.

The ideal candidate will also assist the accounting senior staff with all related monthly closings and daily operations as well as preparation of financial and ad hoc reports for the US as well as all other divisions of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Senior staff in all accounting aspects including but not limited to daily tasks such as journal entries, preparation of payments, treasury, financial and ad hoc reports.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor expenses.
  • Process project vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Prepare financial reports for individual projects, including budget vs. actual analysis.
  • Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Communicate with vendors and owners as needed.
  • Prepare and submit client (owner) invoices based on contractual agreements and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Prepare all aspects of the vendor and owner onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights.
  • Participate in all necessary meetings to assist, gain knowledge or provide clarity with respect to financial matters.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures for all divisions of the organization.
  • Support audit processes with respect to all divisions of the organization.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures for projects.
  • Support senior staff in monitoring contracts to ensure billing milestones and other financial terms are met.

QUALIFICSATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 years of general accounting experience, with potential exposure to project work.
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with project management, ERP systems and Power BI is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, multi-tasker, analytical thinking, team player, adaptable and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80, $90,000.00 per year
