Ophthalmology Consultants is a growing ophthalmology practice in Fort Wayne seeking dedicated and experienced staff.

Qualified medical assistants/ophthalmic technicians will assist the ophthalmologist and optometrist by obtaining medical histories, performing preliminary eye tests and preparing patients for the exam with standard tests and measurements. The candidate will assist with minor procedures and set up instruments. Experienced medical assistants with the desire to learn about ophthalmology will be considered.

Duties include:

Review patient chart in EMR and determine essential testing for exam.

Collects patient history, vision test, intraocular pressure, manual and auto refraction, pupil evaluation, dilation and various testing including visual fields, OCTs, tonometry, and administers eye drops.

Transcribes results of patient exams on medical record as physician orally dictates during the exam.

Develops positive relationships with patients and coworkers.

Performs administrative tasks including pharmacy call backs refills including FMLA forms, and other paperwork as needed.'

Compensation based on experience. Ophthalmology experience preferred.
