Accounts Payable Specialist

Recyclops, Inc. is seeking an accounts payable specialist to perform a variety of technical and professional accounting work and support functions related to the operation of the Finance Department. The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Manage and provide timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable.
- Organize and structure all incoming expenses to account for them in the accounting system.
- Have a working knowledge of accounting processes for accounts payable.
- Communicate across departments to gain approvals and understand expense categorization for financial reporting.
- Communicate with vendors to gain favorable pay terms and positive relationships with company partners.
- Develop and maintain reports where analysis of data is required. Identify sources and extract necessary information. Perform general and complex calculations.
- May assist with policy and procedure development.
- Complete special projects and studies. Produce complex spreadsheets, charts and tables and analyze various data and scenarios.
- Develop and maintain confidential records and process and transmit information that requires a high degree of discretion.
- Provide customer service and receive and address inquiries made by staff, businesses and others. Follow up within scope of authority and advise and/or refer if outside scope of authority.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of accounting work experience preferred.
- Possesses basic accounting skills and knowledge. Has a thorough understanding of the total process flow.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ensures that all details of a task are accomplished properly.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Able to work with customers and partners.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient computer skills including NetSuite, Ramp, banking software, and Google Workspace.
- Ability to perform duties professionally, accurately, ethically and in accordance with Recyclops's mission, vision and values and legal requirements.
