About the Role

StratITech Services is seeking a
Principal Cloud Platform Engineer (Serverless / AWS)
for a confidential client building next-generation consumer and IoT technology. This role is
software-centric
, focused on backend engineering, cloud-native application development, data systems, and serverless architectures—
not infrastructure operations
.

You will drive cloud platform architecture, lead end-to-end technical delivery, and collaborate with product, mobile, web, hardware, and data stakeholders. Your work will power critical customer experiences and help scale a rapidly growing technology ecosystem.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and develop cloud-native backend services leveraging AWS serverless technologies.
  • Design and implement end-to-end cloud application flows supporting mobile, web, IoT devices, and data pipelines.
  • Influence and guide architectural decisions across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Own the full lifecycle of technical delivery—architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Champion modern cloud software practices: IaC, CI/CD, observability, test automation, and event-driven design.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Work closely with product and design teams to create intuitive and performant user experiences.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years as a Cloud Software Engineer, Backend Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong API design experience and expertise building asynchronous/distributed systems.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AWS (especially serverless: API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, CDK).
  • Strong Python development background.
  • Experience with data pipelines and cloud-native streaming tools (e.g., Kinesis).
  • Deep understanding of observability, tracing, performance, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • TypeScript and modern JavaScript experience.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Snowflake, or similar streaming/warehouse tools.
  • Mobile app development (React Native, native modules, Bluetooth LE, websockets).
  • RBAC design for internal/external applications.
  • Experience with CI/CD, build systems, GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of compliance/security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, CPRA).
