Senior Accountant

We are partnering with a newly purchased, service organization looking to add a Senior Accountant to the team. You will directly report to the Director of Finance/Controller. This role will play a key part in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, Timecard Management, Month-End Close, and Financial Analysis.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing daily transactional responsibilities with providing strategic financial insight. You'll be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting monthly and annual close processes, and contributing to budgeting, reporting, and leadership analyses.

Candidates can work remote, strong preference for those in the greater Boston area, otherwise must work in Eastern Time Zone.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close

  • Lead all aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of results.

Billing & Accounts Receivable

  • Manage end-to-end client billing, collections, and cash applications processes.

  • Ensure invoices are issued accurately and on schedule, aligned with project milestones and contractual terms.

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee vendor invoice processing, expense coding, and payment execution, maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls.

Audit Preparation

  • Support annual audit activities by maintaining comprehensive documentation and preparing required schedules and reconciliations for auditors.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Contribute to the development of the annual budget and assist in monthly forecasting.

  • Perform ongoing variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support financial decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports and performance metrics to senior leadership.

  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate current accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy as the organization grows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.

  • Experience with
    Certinia ERP
    and
    Salesforce CRM
    strongly preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in
    Excel
    and
    PowerPoint
    for financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical acumen.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
