Position Overview:
The Wildlife Department Manager (WDM) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the Wildlife Department, including customer service, inventory control, job scheduling, quality assurance, and completion of jobs within budgeted costs. This position includes hiring, training, and developing employees, ensuring high productivity and efficiency, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The WDM has bottom-line financial responsibility for the division, helps prepare the department annual budget, and is accountable for monthly performance results.

- Review annual goals and objectives with the General Manager.
- Assist in creating the department's annual budget and provide data and assumptions.
- Attend weekly meetings, explaining financial and operational variances.
- Develop strategies to meet or exceed budget targets, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Conduct regular reviews of inventory levels, equipment needs, and operational strategies with the General Manager.
- Understand how to schedule rodent work and be available to schedule jobs when needed.
- Personally take over the responsibility of servicing customers in case of insufficient wildlife technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Wildlife and Rodent Control: Perform inspections to identify wildlife and rodent issues, including rats, mice, squirrels, raccoons, and other local pests. Develop and implement effective control strategies, including trapping, removal, and exclusion.Customer Service: Engage with customers to explain the findings of inspections, recommend appropriate treatments, and provide educational information on preventing future infestations.
Trapping and Removal: Safely and humanely capture and remove rodents and other wildlife from properties, ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding wildlife handling and relocation.
Exclusion and Prevention: Identify entry points and weaknesses in structures and provide exclusion recommendations (e.g., sealing gaps, repairing holes, and improving property defenses).
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, services performed, and customer communications. Complete service reports, billing details, and follow-up plans as needed.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols during the handling of traps, wildlife, and chemicals and performing exclusion work.
Conduct safety checks on equipment
Team Leadership: Supervise and train other team members in wildlife control procedures. Assist with scheduling and coordinating wildlife control tasks to optimize team efficiency.
Inventory Management: Manage supplies and equipment for wildlife control, including traps, baits, exclusion materials, and tools.

- Conduct day and annual performance evaluations for all employees, providing actionable feedback.
- Hold divisional meetings to communicate expectations and provide ongoing support.
- Maintain documentation of policy violations and implement disciplinary actions as required.
- Motivate employees through effective communication, training, and recognition of achievements.
- Provide continuing, up to date training to service consultants (sales).
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Conduct regular process reviews to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that could enhance productivity and safety.
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses for new equipment or procedural changes.
- Maintain awareness of competitors' strategies and methods to ensure the company remains competitive.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in wildlife exclusion.
- Proven track record of managing teams and projects within a wildlife or environmental context.
- Experience in construction and maintenance regarding pest control solutions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record.
- Ability to develop strategic plans based on data and execute them effectively.
- Knowledge of local and federal wildlife regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations.
- Familiarity with the use of tools, technology and software relevant to wildlife management and conservation efforts.
