The Global Platform Manager will oversee the day-to-day delivery and maintenance of the FLB Global IT Platform, ensuring it supports business operations, availability and security needs. They are responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, and upkeep of hardware and software, including servers, backups, disaster recovery and security systems. This role is crucial for ensuring operational excellence and the standardization and optimization of FLB IT hardware and system availability Globally. They will increase productivity and reduce technical debt by collaboration with regional and global experts within the business towers to standardize platforms, aligning with global standards. Responsible for the delivery of system maintenance and monitoring that ensures that all IT infrastructure components, including servers, cloud and storage systems, are operating efficiently. This includes regular monitoring, performance tuning, and implementing necessary updates or patches. They will forecast and manage Business as Usual (BAU) staffing needs, planning for availability by managing team capacity. Team leadership: Manage and lead a team of IT professionals, including systems engineers, operational security and backup, this involves setting daily work schedules, providing guidance, and fostering professional development

Key Responsibilities
Job Description

  • Responsible for the day-to-day support of the global IT platform, specifically its availability, performance, capacity and backup. Act as the initial technical point of contact for the platform team and incident escalation for BAU
  • Perform cross-functional, multidisciplinary technical oversight to include evaluation of project work, staff, methods, and associated procedures related to enterprise-level IT/OT systems. C ompile technology related documentation for GxP and critical IT technologies. Participate in system validation and testing processes as required. Approve validation documentation together with relevant ITQ. Represent IT system in connection with audits and inspections
  • Consult with system administrators, vendors, and other department personnel regarding the delivery of the FLB platform globally, specifically its availability, security, performance, capacity and scalability to business needs. Ensure appropriate technical roadmaps are created and managed with forecasted resources and budgets in place.
  • Manage resources regarding daily BAU activities to ensure incident and service requests are delivered within SLA's. Produce forecasted resource usage and availability and manage performance of technical staff (5-10 direct reports)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 10yrs+ experience in a senior IT 4th line position with proven track record in an enterprise IT environment/
  • Or 6+yrs in a Platform team management position.
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Scope & Impact

  • Responsible for establishing, owning and governance of the FLB global Platform capacity management and availability process including metrics and measures. Delivery of BAU in regard to incident and request management ensuring appropriate FTE forecasting is in place to meet SLA's
  • Brief and advise IT management on technology and FTE utilization, weekly/monthly reports to support this.
  • Mentor peers and help build the IT/OT Opensource strategy within the organization on a global perspective, ensuring secure by design methodology.
  • Perform cross-functional, multidisciplinary BAU oversight to include evaluation of project work, staff, methods, and associated procedures related to enterprise-level IT/OT systems.
  • Establish budget requirements that ensure the capacity and availability of the FLB global platform meet business needs and SLA's
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the platform team in regard to performance and capability. This includes 1-1's and reviews
  • Consult with system administrators, vendors, and other department personnel to provide BAU guidance on platform capacity and requirements for proposed enterprise technical solutions ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and vision statements.
  • Responsible for the BAU cyber security of the FLB global platform in regard to patching and vulnerability management
  • The Global Platform Manger will work within the broader business technology and digital solutions and business towers to ensure BAU delivery of platform services, capacity and availability, in addition, the role is expected to have a broader reach outside traditional IT silos to build relationships. The role will interact with senior level stakeholders globally regarding technical platform issues and delivery BAU requirements. Will be a lead on interacting with FLB platform vendors to ensure solutions are secure and always meet the business technical requirements. Input into external and internal audits in regard to platform BAU delivery and availability services.

Knowledge & Skills

  • 5+ years in a platform management role in a global enterprise business, or 10+ Years in a 4 th Line senior role
  • Solid business acumen and at-ease when engaging with senior leadership.
  • Experience of tracking emerging issues, strategies, roadmaps, patterns, and technologies over time to assess opportunities and risks to the business.
  • Adept at communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, and across organizations, using architecture communication techniques.
  • Adept at gaining support from business and technical stakeholders for architectural initiatives with high levels of risk, impact and complexity.
  • Adapt at creating and managing platform capacity and availability including managing and creating appropriate metrics and measures.
  • Experience of enabling the implementation of strategies or visions across the organization by advocating for resources and removing blockers
  • Experience of managing technical teams globally within a enterprise platform environment
  • In depth knowledge of how to direct the implementation of ITIL processes within a platform environment, by creating appropriate processes and metrics to define and manage performance of the FLB global platform and team
  • Good understanding of platform security, IS027000 and NIS2 advantageous
  • Experience of creating BAU forecasting plans characterized by high risk, impact, and complexity.
  • Experience of producing weekly/monthly availability, capacity and performance reports for a global enterprise platform environment/team
