The
Cloud Architect (Azure Engineer)
will provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for cloud computing and automation initiatives. This role is responsible for defining the technology framework, driving best practices in design and deployment, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across enterprise cloud environments.

You'll collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders to shape cloud strategy, design hybrid solutions, and lead the technical delivery of mission-critical systems on Azure.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise cloud architecture across IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid models.
  • Lead the development of reusable, documented cloud design patterns and frameworks.
  • Provide hands-on expertise in Azure infrastructure, automation, and orchestration.
  • Evaluate architectural alternatives, ensuring solutions align with security, performance, and cost objectives.
  • Define high-availability, DR, and resiliency patterns for cloud-based applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and cloud issues in real time.
  • Develop and automate deployment, configuration, and upgrade processes.
  • Conduct performance analysis and recommend optimizations for production systems.
  • Research and assess emerging cloud technologies and trends.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth across the team.
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Support release activities and maintenance during off-hours as required.
  • Refine operational processes and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years of IT experience across multiple disciplines: cloud architecture, networking, development, middleware, and operations.
  • Proven expertise designing and deploying complex solutions on
    Azure
    (experience with AWS/GCP is a plus).
  • Proficiency in
    Azure Shell / PowerShell scripting
    .
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing principles (multi-tenancy, elasticity, orchestration, virtualization).
  • Strong knowledge of
    network architecture, SOA, OOP, and client-server models
    .
  • Experience with
    containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
    .
  • Proficiency with
    server-side scripting
    (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Expertise in
    Windows Server (2016/2019)
    and
    Linux (RHEL, Oracle, Amazon Linux)
    administration.
  • Understanding of
    HA, DR, and storage technologies
    (clustering, load balancing, SAN/NAS).
  • Knowledge of
    web protocols and security
    (HTTP/S, SSL, Kerberos, AD, LDAP, firewalls, reverse proxies).
  • Familiarity with
    SSO and Identity Management
    tools (AADConnect, ADFS, Ping, Okta, SAML, OAuth).
  • Excellent client-facing and consultative communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
