Maintenance Mechanic–Engineer
to take a leading role in maintaining and improving our plant utilities and refrigeration systems. This position is essential to ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining food safety standards, and driving reliability across our production environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial refrigeration systems, utilities management, and preventive maintenance. You'll be part of a high-performing maintenance team that keeps our state-of-the-art equipment running safely and efficiently every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective actions on the plant's refrigeration system
  • Conduct routine inspections, documentation, and troubleshooting of all refrigeration and utility systems
  • Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Fabricate and repair parts, structures, and equipment using maintenance shop tools
  • Support utilities and facility upkeep, including plumbing, electrical, and general plant maintenance
  • Assist in developing the plant energy and utilities program to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Help train and support new employees within the maintenance department
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records while adhering to GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and all food safety regulations

*Qualifications:*

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum Ammonia Blue Seal certification required (Red Seal preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial manufacturing environment; 1 year in the food industry preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience operating or troubleshooting industrial refrigeration systems (toxic or non-toxic)
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, FDA, DEP, EPA, and OSHA requirements
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work overtime or different shifts as needed

*Skills:*

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems efficiently
  • Operate, repair, and maintain industrial ammonia systems
  • Support utilities maintenance including compressed air, steam, and water systems
  • Fabricate, weld, and repair parts as needed to maintain production efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence
