Area Vice President, Segment Strategy

The Segment Strategy Leader will be responsible for analyzing, assessing, prioritizing and planning the key segment opportunities for Calix and its portfolio of solutions. including the Broadband Platform, SmartLife managed services, Calix Cloud, Calix Success and our partner solutions. The mission of this role is to optimize Calix's field resources in our go-to-market efforts. You will work closely with the field marketing team to execute on your aligned strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis & Assessment

  • Analyze the market opportunities for Calix within key segments
  • Review the competitive landscape (in collaboration with the Calix competitive team) to assess the biggest opportunities to leverage our core strengths

Prioritization and Play Management

  • Through updated quarterly plans (ongoing), you'll lead x-functional segment leaders to optimize our motions
  • Your team will drive key plays and work closely with demand generation to execute on the marketing elements of those plays

Measurement and Impact

  • Define KPIs for segment success.
  • Report quarterly on segment leadership and areas of opportunity for growth.
  • Use data to refine strategy and improve outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product and solution marketing, demand generation, in marketing.
  • Partner with Sales, Solution Sales, Success and PLL to drive plays.

Strategic Priorities You Will Drive

  • Market leadership in established and strategic growth segments

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 8–12 years in segment and/or vertical planning and strategy.
  • Proven experience in segment strategy, preferably in a high-growth B2B technology environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong storytelling ability with a great balance of big picture thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate with urgency, clarity, and precision in a fast-paced environment.

The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
