Workforce Development Coordinator

Under the direction of the Executive Director and Program Director, the Workforce Development Coordinator will lead sessions using the YMIT Curriculum
Outline
, support the development of our online workforce course for teens, and help plan and implement community engagement activities
.
This role involves using mentorship strategies to support youth in
college preparation,
career development
, internship/apprenticeship
and job placement
;
while also
co-
facilitating the day-to-day operations of our Out-of-School Time (OST) program, Youth Build Community (YBC).
The Workforce Development Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director to communicate with parents, staff, and partners about YBC program activities
.
They'll also take the lead on off-site training for youth and community members, managing transportation logistics and supporting strong partnerships within our network
.
Position Requirements:
- Must be 21 or older
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Background check required
- Team-oriented and dependable
- Must be personable and able to network effectively
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, social media/content creation, Canva, and Google Docs)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have Cultural Competence
- Experience with classroom management or workshop facilitation preferred
- Experience working with youth (ages 14–21) preferred
- Experience working in Workforce Development preferred
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the administrative team in the planning, gathering of materials, and implementation of activities
- Develop and implement workforce development curricula
- Train on and Co-Facilitate workshops related to workforce development and professionalism
- Collaborate with the Event Coordinator in planning and implementation of community events
- Organize and manage participant scheduling, logistics, and transportation for
worksites,
trade partnerships
,
and apprenticeship opportunities
.
- Maintain OST classroom structure for the benefit of safety
- Schedule and observe guest speakers in order to ensure a safe and enriched learning environment
- Report to the Administrative Team any signs of illness or distress observed in the participants; aid in dealing with the situation as appropriate
- Ensure that program policies and procedures are being followed
- Complete other tasks assigned by the Program Director
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Some College Preferred but not mandatory
- Trade School Experience Preferred but not mandatory
- Preferred certifications include OSHA, First Aid, CPR, and Mental Health First Aid
