A Day in the Life of the Sales Operations Manager

As the Sales Operations Manager, you'll be the driving force behind optimizing sales processes, leading a high-performing support team, and ensuring the sales organization has the tools and insights needed to achieve growth targets. This role bridges strategy and execution, helping align operations, improve efficiency, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and refine sales processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Lead CRM strategy and administration (e.g., Salesforce), maintaining data integrity and user adoption
  • Develop and manage performance dashboards, forecasts, and pipeline analytics
  • Collaborate with leadership and global counterparts to align sales operations with corporate objectives
  • Manage and mentor Sales Support and Inside Sales teams to foster accountability and continuous improvement
  • Oversee quotes, order processing, and customer communication workflows
  • Provide tools, training, and resources to empower the sales team
  • Support proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract reviews
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Logistics, and Customer Service teams

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales operations, preferably within instrumentation, automation, or technical industries
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving operational excellence
  • Past experience enabling a sales team with tools, training, or resources that improved customer engagement or sales outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in CRM and reporting tools (Salesforce, Power BI, Excel)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities
  • Experience creating dashboards, forecasts, or pipeline analytics to support strategic decisions
