Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax CPA to join our growing and collaborative team. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with at least 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review.

This role is perfect for professionals looking for flexible hours and the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and challenging client engagements, with the option of either a full-time or part-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals
  • Conduct tax research and deliver clear, well-supported tax advice to clients
  • Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines effectively
  • Review work prepared by junior staff, providing constructive feedback, mentorship, and support
  • Communicate with clients and tax authorities to resolve issues and respond to inquiries
  • Stay current on tax law developments and compliance requirements

Qualifications

  • Active CPA or EA license (in good standing)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
  • Proficient in Lacerte, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe; experience with Canopy is a plus
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. individual, business, and fiduciary taxation, including multi-state filings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy, professionalism, and client service focus

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of tax planning strategies for individuals and closely held businesses
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals (U.S. residents and non-residents)
  • Knowledge of international taxation and complex Form 1116
  • Comfortable preparing and filing Forms 5471, 5472, 8938, 2555, and 114
  • Experience with 1040-NR tax returns
  • Familiarity with IRS and FTB resolution procedures
