Position Overview:

We are seeking to add a seasoned Tax Preparer to our tax preparation team The ideal candidate will have no less than 5 years of hands-on professional experience as a Tax Preparer, including documented experience with Business Returns, Trust Returns, Individual / Temp 40 Returns, and more. 

Our environment is casual but fast paced, so keeping a calm, positive, professional demeanor is a must. Individuals must show a willingness to grow, learn, and adapt to keep up with the numerous demands and many changes that happen on a daily basis.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift 
• Monday to Friday (office is closed on weekends)

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or businesses (Federal and State)
• Review of financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures.
• Interview clients to verify or obtain personal information regarding potential deductions, grants, or allowances
• Accurately relay client information to case workers
• Professionally handle communication from clients and taxing authorities
• Transition files to different teams with clear and concise directions for overall case closure and client retention.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: No less than 5 years of documented professional experience as a Tax Preparer is required, including experience with Business Returns, Trust Returns, Individual / Temp 40 Returns. 
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Technical Skills: Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, and Tax Preparation software is required (Experience with Pro Series is strongly preferred). 
• Ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and the willingness to collaborate with colleagues to effectively execute duties as needed.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Career-driven, positive attitude with a desire to grow internally within the organization.
