Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work at 2 different locations and possess a strong background in clinical support, patient service, and medical administrative tasks within various medical settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, and emergency medicine. This role requires a professional with comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and EHR systems to provide exceptional patient care and efficient office operations. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values accuracy, compassion, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures
  • Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform intake assessments
  • Measure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
  • Assist with patient preparation for examinations or procedures such as X-ray or medication administration
  • Document clinical notes accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Support physicians with clinical tasks including ICD coding, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures
  • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans and post-care instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient records, and billing support when necessary

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within outpatient or inpatient settings
  • Knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical care, internal medicine, PICU, OR experience preferred
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding processes
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma centers are a plus
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures
  • Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as hospital emergency departments or outpatient clinics
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and administrative tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams committed to high-quality patient care

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $27.70 per hour
