Overview

Keller Williams Alliance Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Broker to lead with integrity, expertise, and a genuine passion for people and performance. This key leadership role ensures the brokerage operates at the highest level of compliance, professionalism, and production, while cultivating a culture of support, care, and ethical excellence.

The Managing Broker will be a visible, in-office leader, spending five days per week between our Fairfax and Reston Market Centers, while also providing broker oversight and guidance to affiliated independent brokerages and our Northern Neck location.

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, strategic thinker, and natural teacher who models Keller Williams' values of collaboration, integrity, and service. This individual will partner closely with the Team Leader and Operating Principal to protect the brokerage's integrity, promote a culture of care and excellence, and empower agents to thrive both professionally and personally.

Key Responsibilities

Brokerage Oversight & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all residential transactions, legal inquiries, and ethical concerns.
  • Manage risk reduction through proactive systems, education, and consistent standards enforcement.
  • Oversee dispute resolution, mediation, and compliance investigations with fairness and professionalism.
  • Ensure compliance with Virginia Real Estate Board regulations, KW policies, and local MLS rules.
  • Provide ongoing broker oversight and support to affiliated and independent offices, including the Northern Neck location.

Agent Development & Support

  • Teach and train weekly in each Market Center on contracts, legal updates, and risk management.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to agents regarding forms, negotiation strategy, and complex transactions.
  • Partner with the Productivity Coaching Team to ensure new agents receive consistent mentorship and broker guidance.
  • Offer 1:1 consultations with producing agents to strengthen compliance, negotiation, and business practices.
  • Identify trends and proactively develop training opportunities to address risk, enhance skills, and promote professionalism.

Culture, Leadership & Collaboration

  • Promote and foster an environment of strong culture, collaboration, and care, where agents feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.
  • Uphold and model the highest ethical standards, ensuring fairness, transparency, and professionalism in every interaction.
  • Partner with the Team Leader to align broker support with growth, retention, and cultural goals across all Market Centers.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Team Leader, Finance, Market Center Communications Coordinator, Director of Operations, Marketing Team, and Productivity Coaches to maintain operational excellence and standards.
  • Participate in daily morning leadership huddles and provide timely communication, updates, and alignment with the leadership team.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings and monthly new agent orientations, contributing to office strategy and agent success.
  • Attend and actively engage in team meetings, masterminds, and cultural events as a trusted leadership presence.
  • Maintain open communication and support for affiliate brokerages including Northern Neck location to ensure consistency and alignment.

Operational & Risk Management

  • Review transaction files and trends to identify risk exposure and training needs.
  • Ensure compliance records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
  • Maintain communication with VAR, NVAR, BrightMLS, sharing updates and best practices.
  • Implement and refine systems and processes that ensure efficiency, accountability, and proactive compliance.

Training & Professional Growth

  • Attend and participate in Keller Williams' major events, including Family Reunion, Mega Camp, and local and regional leadership trainings, to stay current with company models, culture, and industry trends.
  • Bring back key learnings to train and elevate agents and staff across all pertinent Market Centers.
  • Lead by example as a learning-based leader committed to continual growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia Real Estate Broker License in good standing (required).
  • Bonus (not required): Also licensed in Maryland and/or Washington, D.C.
  • 5+ years of residential real estate experience, with demonstrated leadership and compliance expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge of Virginia contracts, agency laws, and Keller Williams systems and models.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A servant leader who is calm under pressure, approachable, supportive, accessible and solution-oriented.
  • A culture champion and teacher with a passion for mentorship, professionalism, and ethical business.

Expectations

  • Maintain an in-office presence five (5) days per week, dividing time between Fairfax and Reston.
  • Conduct a minimum of one training session per week in each Market Center.
  • Participate in daily morning leadership huddles and weekly leadership meetings.
  • Attend team meetings, monthly orientations, company events, and KW national and regional conferences.
  • Provide additional ongoing broker support to independent brokerages and the Northern Neck location.
  • Model and promote Keller Williams culture, care, and ethical excellence in all actions and decisions.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Operating Principal & Team Leader

Works Closely With: Leadership Team, Agents, Productivity Coaches, Affiliate Brokers

Compensation

This position offers a competitive base salary commensurate with experience. Part of compensation is zero company dollar paid to market center on sales.
