The

Office Manager will be part of a new team of Student Affairs professionals at the Capitol Campus

responsible for overseeing student support and programming designed to promote a collaborative, integrated, community, create a sense of affinity to the campus and a sense of belonging for all capitol campus students. The Office Manager for the Capitol Campus supports the overarching vision, mission, and strategic framework of the academic and student support resources that will inhabit the 4th floor of the 111 Mass building. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, this position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the 4th floor, encompassing multiple offices across divisions of the University. They are also responsible for the oversight of student staff hiring and human resources functions along with some day to financial management processes.

The Office Manager serves as a resource for staff and students and supports and promotes the mission and vision of Georgetown. This position reports to the Associate Dean and works collaboratively with the staff on the 4th floor on matters related to student support, satisfaction, logistics, financials and office management. This position supervises student staff.

The Student Affairs office is a fast paced, student-centered environment. Student contact is extensive and substantive. Staff members work collaboratively on the floor and with many other university-wide constituent groups including the Hilltop campus. Staff members are expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility and independent judgment and to work irregular and sometimes long hours.

Work Interactions

This position reports directly to the Associate Dean of Students for the Capitol Campus and will work with diverse colleagues across various divisions and departments at both the Hilltop and Capitol Campus. This position has significant interaction with students. This position interacts with Washington, DC partners, including those from community-based organizations, DC and federal government, and District based cultural institutions. As necessary, this position interacts with emergency personnel, alumni, parents/families, and faculty.

This person must exercise strong communication skills and a high degree of discretion with regard to sensitive matters. The person must be a highly motivated, self-starter and an effective communicator within the Student Affairs team.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an office manager or in student affairs, student formation, and/or student leadership development, and/or comparable experience;
  • Flexibility in work schedule is required (to account for night and weekend coverage);
  • An understanding of Jesuit higher education is a plus;
  • A knowledge of Washington, DC is a plus;
  • Prefer experience working with college students, familiarity with university culture, and working in and with diverse communities

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$39, $59,694.78

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
