Job Description:

Boart Longyear is looking to hire a Payroll Time Administrator to work in our corporate office in West Valley City, UT, supporting our Drilling Services business. The Payroll Time Administrator performs a variety of clerical office duties such as maintaining files, keeping records, preparing schedules, compiling data for reports, searching and investigating information contained in files, processing departmental documents, posting records and typing correspondence and reports from rough drafts. You may also be responsible to sort mail, proof-read, complete forms and check for accuracy, answer telephones and type. May operate general business machines such as copier, calculator, computer, fax or other similar machines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Payroll and accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with expense reporting and multistate payroll practices.
  • Experience with Dayforce strongly preferred; Oracle timekeeping system knowledge a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, spreadsheets, and reporting).
  • High level of data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the regional lead and subject matter expert for time administration, providing guidance on timekeeping policies, procedures, and system use.
  • Accurately enter and process payroll data, including weekly timesheet information for employees across multiple divisions.
  • Run reports from payroll and timekeeping systems; cross-reference with employee timecards to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Calculate and process PTO payouts, adjustments, and corrections.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining payroll and financial reports.
  • Serve as an administrator for timekeeping software; support users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Communicate frequently with managers and department leaders to resolve timekeeping, payroll, and expense discrepancies.
  • Maintain accounting and finance files, records, and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide general administrative support including correspondence, filing, scheduling, purchasing, receiving, and ordering.
  • Assist with financial reviews and other payroll/finance projects as needed.
