About the Role

As a Sylvan Tutor, you'll guide students through personalized reading and writing programs that build confidence and improve academic performance. Our proven Sylvan Method ensures every student learns at their own pace — and you'll never have to create lesson plans or grade papers.

What You'll Do

· Deliver engaging, small-group or one-on-one instruction in reading, writing, and literacy

· Follow Sylvan's structured, evidence-based curriculum (training provided)

· Support students with phonics, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills

· Arrive 15 minutes before your first session; wrap up 10 minutes after your last

· Collaborate with a friendly team that cares about student success

Qualifications

You'll be a great fit if you have at least one of the following:

· Current or expired state teaching certificate

· Enrollment in an Education or Alternative Certification Program

· Tutoring or teaching experience (school, private, or college level)

· In second year of college or beyond with an Education major

Preferred

· Knowledge of phonics, reading comprehension strategies, and writing instruction

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
