Corrosion Technician I

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard testing to evaluate the efficacy of a cathodic protection (CP) system.
- Perform basic adjustments and repairs on CP systems.
- Perform pipeline survey methods (CIS, ACVG, DCVG, ACCA, etc.).
- Gather data in support of CP and AC mitigation design.
- Test and troubleshoot CP rectifiers.
- Compile data in an organized manner for submission to Engineering.
- Adhere to client and MATCOR safety requirements.
- Maintain client relationships, with the goal of meeting all customer expectations.
- Ability to work alone or in a team setting with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- AMPP CP 1 certification.
- Preferred 1 year of experience
- Clean driving record
- Employee who have completed six (6) months of continuous employment with the company are eligible for the reimbursement of costs associated with approved certification programs, contingent upon successful completion and submission of appropriate documentations – CP2 certification
- Travel: 75%
- Must be able to travel and stay near job sites for 3 weeks
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking required throughout the day.
- Frequent stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting required.
- May be required to lift and pull up to 70 pounds and must be physically capable of performing manual tasks without restriction.
- Computer-related activities, such as typing and viewing a computer monitor are required.
- Required to drive/travel to project and client sites.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions.
