Our 2026 Summer Internship program is a wonderful opportunity for rising 2027 graduates to immerse themselves in an innovative and mission driven culture. Our 10-week paid internship program will provide you with hands on mentorship, an opportunity to add real contribution to our company via your internship project, and a possible job offer at the end. You will have the chance to make lifelong friendships, expand your network, and learn all about what it's like to work in a high-growth, fast scaling tech unicorn. Over the 10-week internship, the Accounting Intern will support the finance team on key initiatives related to system implementations, account reconciliations, and process documentation. They will gain exposure to monthly close activities, audit preparation, and financial reporting. The intern will also complete an assigned project focused on improving efficiency or automation within a core accounting process and present their findings at the end of the internship.

• • Support accounting team initiatives related to system implementation, data accuracy, and process efficiency.
• Gain hands-on experience with monthly close procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Identify and propose at least one improvement opportunity within Shield AI's accounting processes or tools.

• • You are an undergraduate, graduate or PhD student expected to graduate in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (Workiva)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• • Completion of assigned accounting tasks and reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness
• Successful contribution to at least one system implementation or process improvement initiative
• Delivery of a final presentation or summary report with data-driven recommendations
• Demonstrated improvement in efficiency or documentation quality within the assigned process area
• Positive feedback from project mentors and accounting team members on collaboration and initiative

$27 - $42 an hour

Rising Bachelor's graduate = $27/hour

Rising Master's graduate = $33/hour

Rising PhD graduate = $42/hour

Housing stipend provided, amount based on location

Intern Program Dates:

June 1st - Aug 7th

OR

June 22nd - Aug 28th

• You MUST be available to start on EITHER June 1st or June 22nd.
