Position: Fulton Shelter Director

Supervisor: Vice President of Shelter Services & Supportive Housing

Position Description: This professional provides supervision and management of the direct service staff at our Fulton Shelter. The Fulton Shelter Director is also responsible for coordinating the daily operations of PADV's domestic violence safe house to include standards of health, safety, security and assistance with safe house administrative and programmatic functions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides leadership of shelter programs and facility maintenance 2. Provides oversight and management of programmatic budget which includes purchases. 3. Approves payment requests for all safe house purchases and ensures all purchases are documented with appropriate receipts and are submitted timely to Finance for processing. 4. Seeks advance VP of SSSH approval for ALL purchases over $ Recruits and trains shelter staff as appropriate. 6. Supervises and trains full and part-time safe house staff including, but not limited to maintenance staff, interns and volunteers. 7. Ensures professional development of staff and that the development is documented in Employee Navigator and in Caseworthy 8. Fosters and maintains excellent, professional working relations with staff and volunteers and functions as part of a team. 9. Meets weekly with full-time staff to provide supervision and data compliance 10.Works collaboratively with in developing and implementing program goals. 11.Coordinates organization and distribution of community donations. 12.Oversees the maintenance of the safe house and coordinates timely correction of any damages and repairs. 13.Purchases groceries and safe house supplies. 14.Maintains a clean, healthy and safe home environment for residents ensuring programs are in compliance with grant/donor contract standards. 15.Ensures safe house is in compliance with Fire and Department of Health Regulations and conducts monthly checks to ensure all equipment, buildings and furnishing are functioning appropriately, and pass inspections with regulators. 16.Conducts and documents monthly fire and intruder drills. 17.Maintains a consistent, high quality, victim focused orientation when conducting business and providing services. 18.Coordinates on call and holiday schedule. 19.Attends monthly staff meetings, team development meetings, and senior management meetings. 20.Works flexible schedules and serves on call as needed. 21.Completes all tasks in a timely manner. 22.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required. (Master's Degree preferred). Experience in crisis intervention with 3 to 5 years of domestic violence related experience. Knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on victims. Experience in residential management and service delivery. 21 years of age with clean driving record and a valid drivers' license. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written. Computer and software application skills. Proven skills in team management and supervision. First aid and CPR training required. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Ability to work with culturally diverse groups. Ability to work cooperatively with team members and administrative support services. Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $60,000.00 per year
