We are looking for a full-time experienced Barista to join our small team at One Another Coffee trailer in the Terrell Heights neighborhood. The job involves preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include engaging with customers and educating them on our drink menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling seasonal/special items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. The ideal candidate will be available for 3-4 shifts per week with the ability to work weekends.

One Another Coffee is owned and operated by Charis Collective and all profits go towards the creation and maintenance of Charis Park, a neighborhood green space coming Fall 2024. Learn more at

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they approach the trailer
  • Direct customers to drink menu and answer their questions regarding ingredients
  • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee, dairy and sugar ratios)
  • Prepare beverages following recipes/training
  • Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies and pastries
  • Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
  • Keep the bar area clean
  • Maintain stock of paper products (cups, napkins, lids, etc)
  • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate customer feedback to program manager and recommend new menu items
  • Help develop seasonal drinks & flavor syrups

Skills

  • Previous work experience as a Barista
  • Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance of equipment such as cleaning grinders
  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to gauge customers' preferences
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $12.50 per hour + tips

Experience:

  • Guest services: 1-2 year (Required)
  • Barista experience: 1-2 years (Required)
  • Manual espresso machine usage: 1-2 years (Preferred)
  • Dialing in espresso: 1-2 years (Preferred)
