Accounting and Administrative Associate

Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently seeking a motivated and highly organized individual to join our team as a full time Accounting & Administrative Associate.
The Accounting & Administrative Associate supports the accounting department and overall office operations by performing daily administrative and accounting tasks. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role assists with accounts payable/receivable, weekly payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records, while also supporting general office administration. This position is essential in keeping the office organized, ensuring accurate accounting processes, and contributing to the efficiency of a fast-paced, growing construction business.
This role will be based in the Grand Forks, ND area
Applicants must have/possess:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or related field (preferred)
- Current and valid driver's license
- Reliable means of transportation

The primary role of the Accounting & Administrative Associate includes the following essential functions:
- Assist with processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with maintaining accurate accounting and administrative records
- Assist with job costing, compliance, expense tracking, and reconciliation
- Assist with weekly payroll processing
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide administrative support to Operations department(s )
- Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal staff
- Ensure all financial records comply with company policies, accounting standards, and industry regulations
- Performs other related duties and projects, as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 1–3 years of accounting, office administration, or related finance experience (construction industry experience preferred)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software (ex: Outlook, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
