Position Overview

The Settlement Agent/Closer is responsible for preparing and conducting real estate settlements, ensuring all documents are accurate, properly executed, and compliant with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is licensed (or actively pursuing licensure and/or willing to obtain licensure within 90 days of initial employment) as a Virginia Settlement Agent, with strong experience in title insurance, loan packages, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct real estate closings for buyers, sellers, and refinance transactions.
  • Review, prepare, and explain closing documents, deeds, and lender packages.
  • Coordinate with lenders, agents, and processors to ensure file readiness.
  • Assisting with disbursement of funds in compliance with ALTA and state escrow requirements during down time.
  • Ensure all documents are properly notarized and executed.
  • Review title commitments, confirm clear title, and issue title insurance policies.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and represent Rocket Title with integrity and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Must be a current commissioned Notary Public with active E&O insurance.
  • Must be a Licensed Settlement Agent in Virginia, or willing and able to obtain the license within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior experience with real estate settlements, loan packages, and/or title insurance required.
  • Knowledge of HUD/CD/ALTA Settlement Statements and legal document review and preparation.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate late closings (5:00–6:30 PM) when needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Qualia or similar title software.
  • Understanding of underwriting and title clearance processes.
  • Background in residential and refinance transactions.

No weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
