Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with specialized knowledge in equipment leasing and finance. This hands-on leadership role will oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842/IFRS 16), draft and review key form documents, and manage collections processes to maintain healthy cash flow. The ideal candidate thrives in a detail-oriented setting and has a proven track record in the equipment finance industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, revenue recognition, and month-end/close processes specific to leasing transactions.
• Ensure accurate lease accounting, including classification, amortization schedules, and financial reporting compliance.
• Draft, review, and maintain standard form documents such as lease agreements, financing contracts, UCC filings, addendums, and amendments.
• Lead collections efforts: monitor delinquent accounts, negotiate payment plans, oversee recovery strategies, and minimize bad debt while maintaining positive client relationships.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and payment application for lease portfolios.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and legal teams on transaction structuring and documentation.
• Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks in leasing and finance operations.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring team efficiency and professional development.
• Stay current on industry regulations, tax implications of leases, and best practices in equipment finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CLFP certification highly preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in equipment leasing/finance or a related financial services industry.
• Proven expertise in drafting lease/finance documents and managing collections processes.
• Strong knowledge of lease accounting standards (ASC 842), financial modeling, and tools like lease management software (e.g., LeaseWave, Odessa).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with credit analysis, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance in financing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally in a deadline-driven environment.
