This role can sit fully remote in the US, however candidates within an hour commute to Palo Alto are expected to be in office.

We are partnered with a mid-stage Healthcare AI startup looking to scale the legal function. This search is for a Senior Counsel who can act as a corporate and commercial generalist; supporting the legal regulatory strategy, a significant volume of commercial transactions, while also advising on product, privacy, IP, and general corporate matters. This role will report directly into the General Counsel and will be the 4th Legal Counsel hire in the department. This is a fast-paced, high-growth environment and the ideal candidate must be passionate about shaping the future of AI in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial: drafting and negotiating customer agreements, both domestically and internationally
  • Product/Privacy: work closely with product and engineering teams to support the full process of development through launch, advising on regulatory and compliance implications, including privacy.
  • Corporate: general day to day corporate legal support, including corporate governance, employment, etc.

Qualifications

  • Top law school and big law experience strongly preferred (litigation background a huge plus)
  • 5-8+ years of legal experience
  • Prior in-house experience at a SaaS or high growth health tech strongly preferred
