Job Summary: Financial analyst duties include analyzing financial data, creating financial models and forecasts, evaluating investment opportunities, and preparing reports for management. They also monitor economic and market trends, assess risks, and provide strategic recommendations to help companies make informed financial decisions.

Core responsibilities

  • Financial analysis: Reviewing financial statements, market trends, and economic data to assess performance, value, and risk.
  • Forecasting and budgeting: Creating financial forecasts and helping to build and manage budgets.
  • Financial modeling: Building financial models to predict future outcomes and analyze the potential impact of different scenarios.
  • Investment evaluation: Researching and evaluating potential investments, stocks, bonds, and mergers or acquisitions.
  • Reporting and communication: Preparing reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management, investors, or clients.
  • Performance tracking: Monitoring a company's financial health and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Other duties

  • Data consolidation: Gathering and consolidating data from various sources to create a comprehensive financial picture.
  • Strategic recommendations: Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to improve financial performance and reduce costs.
  • Collaboration: Working with other departments, such as risk management, to review information and forecasts.
  • Performance benchmarking: Setting financial benchmarks and comparing historical and current data to current results.
