Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I in the Office of Information Services at the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II) provides direct supervision over the DIR project managers, business analysts, and support activities for the Department. As the IT Supervisor II, you will play a pivotal leadership role in establishing, growing, and supporting the Project Management Team, driving high-quality delivery of technology initiatives that align with the Department's strategic goals. The IT Sup II will serve both as a people manager and a project governance lead—bridging business strategy, technical execution, and continuous improvement of project management practices.

The position requires the IT Support II to maintain acceptable, consistent and regular attendance at such level as is determined at the department's sole discretion. Must be regularly available and willing to work the hours the department determines necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.The IT Supervisor II effectively communicates appropriately when dealing with the public and/or other employees of the deparyment; develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipement; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct. DIR does not participate in E-Verify.

Working Conditions

The incumbent performs work in an open-spaced partitioned office environment with an assigned cubicle in Sacramento, CA. The office is climate-controlled with natural and artificial light. The incumbernt will utilize the computer daily. DIR is currently in a hybrid telework schedule and Incumbent will be required to work on site two days a week. The incumbent will be a participant in meetings in both physical and virtual locations. E.g. conference rooms and offices, and MS Teams and Zoom teleconferences.

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927.
