Optician/Optical Sales Associate

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule: 3-4 days per week with the potential for more days in the near future; must be able to work 2 Saturdays per month.

We are a patient-focused optometry office known for our high-end, independent eyewear, warm, welcoming environment and dedication to exceptional eye care. We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and adaptable team player to join us as a part-time optician.

Job Description:

As a part-time optician, you will play a vital role in delivering a great experience for our patients. The ideal candidate is quick to learn, can efficiently multitask in a fast-paced setting, and enjoys working collaboratively with others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear
  • Take accurate measurements for lenses and adjustments
  • Insurance authorization and billing
  • Process and track eyewear orders
  • Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and care
  • Contact lens inventory management and new wearer training
  • Provide excellent customer service and support front office tasks when needed
  • Pre-testing, and communicating with doctors, other team members, and patients

Qualifications:

  • Prior optical experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person
  • Strong sales and customer service expertise
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy setting
  • Clear communicator and warm personality
