About Us
Lanie's Cafe is a well-established, high-volume restaurant known for serving quality, scratch-made food with warm hospitality. Since 2001, we've built a reputation as a welcoming, fast-paced place to work where teamwork, consistency, and pride in our product are key. We're seeking a motivated Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our leadership team and help guide our experienced kitchen crew to continued success.
Position Overview
The Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager is a working leader responsible for maintaining high culinary standards and smooth kitchen operations. You'll oversee nightly execution, lead by example, and ensure every plate leaving the kitchen reflects the quality our guests expect. This position offers an opportunity for professional growth and long-term stability within an established, locally owned business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the kitchen team during service
Expedite and ensure all dishes meet Lanie's Cafe's quality and presentation standards
Enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols
Maintain a positive, professional work environment and resolve conflicts when needed
Oversee nightly operations and staff performance
Place and manage produce and supply orders
Communicate effectively with front-of-house management to ensure smooth service
Address guest concerns related to food quality or preparation
Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $22–$27 per hour, based on experience
Bonuses: Quarterly performance-based bonuses
Schedule: 40–45 hours per week
Paid Time Off: Two weeks paid vacation/personal time

What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar leadership role
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and train kitchen staff
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
Commitment to quality, consistency, and teamwork
Weekend availability required
