As Marketing Activation Specialist within the Retail Media John Lewis Campaigns team, you will be responsible for the excellent delivery of supplier brand activity within John Lewis campaigns. You will support on creating Retail Media opportunities within John Lewis campaigns for brands to invest in, as well as activating booked activity for clients. This includes defining the retail media creative brief, channel brief and executing activity for these brands.

You will monitor the performance of your retail media funded campaigns, managing the preparation of PCA reports to inform Retail Media Sales and Planning team conversations for the plans for the following year. You'll be highly organised, adept in working with insight, always with an eye on marketing channel effectiveness and driving outcomes for our suppliers.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of and a passion for marketing, making use of a variety of marketing best practices to meet objectives set. You'll have strong commercial acumen, natural ability with insight and data, strong communication skills to guide and influence others, and work well under pressure. Your ability to deliver compelling presentations will be used, and you will be a collaborative and proactive team member with a strong impact within the Retail Media Activation team and across the matrixed business and marketing teams to create campaigns which are bigger than the sum of the parts.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £4.50 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
  • Salary up to - £47,000 depending on experience

  • Contract type - This position is a 6 month Secondment/Fixed Term contract

  • Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Retail Media team aims for around 1 day a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings. 

  • LocationThis role is based at our London Head Office campus in Pimlico. Please note, any cost incurred as a result of travel to the office is the responsibility of the successful candidate. There is no travel allowance for this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of supplier brand activity within JL campaigns

  • You will be working across a variety of campaigns, from trade-driving sale moments to gifting and cultural campaigns (such as World Cup)

  • You will activate onsite, owned & paid channels and be required to collaborate with media and creative agencies.

  • You will monitor the performance of your supplier-funded campaigns and prepare PCA reports. Working with the Retail Redia Sales & Planning team to report performance back to suppliers and inform next year plans. 

  • Build meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders; inspire, excite and motivate teams across the business.

  • Work to ensure the consistent implementation of activity across marketing. Escalate risks and take decisive action to quickly resolve decision blockages; challenge where necessary.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

  • Significant experience in marketing campaign delivery 

  • Relevant experience working with external suppliers or agencies  

  • Proven experience of effectively servicing brands/clients in a marketing environment 

  • Proven experience working across multiple projects and managing multiple Stakeholders

  • Evidence of strong written and verbal communication 

  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and deadlines 

  • Strong attention to detail, showing initiative and problem-solving 

  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and collaborative in your approach 

  • Proactive and manages workload effectively in a fast-paced environment

Desirable skills/experience you may have 

  • Further qualifications in marketing or business

  • Demonstrates a keen interest in changing trends in the retail media external landscape

  • Relevant experience working within the retail sector
