Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Grocery Services is seeking a Staff & Revenue Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing retail organization.

In this role, you'll take ownership of core accounting functions, including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and payroll support, while playing a critical role in our month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparation. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and leadership to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls across the Retail Division.

Job Summary: 

This position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting related to revenue, receivables, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, payroll, and other core areas. Also plays a key role in month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting our financial reporting and audits.

Key Responsibilities:


•    Prepare and record journal entries for revenue, AR, prepaids, accruals, payroll, and other areas as needed


•    Reconcile revenue and accounts receivable weekly; identify and resolve discrepancies


•    Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules within NetSuite


•    Assist with ASC 842 lease accounting for store and warehouse locations


•    Prepare and reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis


•    Support monthly financial reporting and assist with the preparation of internal management reports


•    Assist with year-end audit requests and other ad hoc reporting


•    Identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and propose practical solutions


•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams across operations, HR, and finance


•    Other duties as assigned.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Month-End Close Timeliness:

  • Complete month-end close and reconciliation processes accurately and consistently by workday 7, ensuring financial data is ready for leadership review.

Responsive Business Support:

  • Provide timely and courteous support to internal stakeholders, responding to accounting inquiries and requests within 2 business days, and maintaining a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, identifying and proposing solutions to remove obstacles and drive efficiencies.

Experience Required:


•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance


•    3 years' accounting experience, preferably in a retail environment


•    Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process


•    Proficiency in accounting software, NetSuite experience is highly desired


•    Advanced Excel skills required


•    CPA certification is a plus
