Seattle, Washington, United States Snuggle n' Stride Full time $22,000 - $44,000 per year

Howdy Snuggle n' Stride is a trans-owned dog walking and pet sitting business committed to using positive reinforcement only. That means no prong collars, no fear-based techniques, and no dominance methods — just gentle, compassionate approaches that build trust and confidence.

Leo, the owner, provides paid training so that every team member feels confident handling dogs and caring for pets using these methods.

We're currently hiring for dog walkers and drop-in care. This job requires a car, and mileage will be reimbursed.

Due to the nature of the position and building clientele, the hours of the position will initially be sparse and build to the full schedule over the next few months.

Dog Walker

Overview:

Dog walkers with Snuggle n' Stride provide safe, reliable, and engaging walks for dogs of all ages and temperaments. Our walkers are expected to uphold our commitment to positive reinforcement and compassionate care.

  • Monitor health and behavior; report concerns to clients.
  • Send updates with photos after each walk.
  • Enter/exit homes securely, respect client privacy, and handle keys/lockboxes responsibly.

Drop-In Pet Care

Overview:

Drop-in sitters provide care for pets in their home environment, ensuring their needs are met and they feel loved while their owners are away. This service may include dogs, cats, small animals, birds, reptiles, or aquarium pets depending on sitter comfort.

Responsibilities:

  • Feed pets and refresh water bowls.
  • Provide bathroom breaks for dogs; clean litter boxes, cages, or enclosures as needed.
  • Offer companionship, playtime, and enrichment.
  • Administer medications (pills, injections, topical) if trained and requested.
  • Check for hazards or concerns in the home environment.
  • Send real-time updates and photos to clients.
  • Watch for signs of illness or distress and communicate promptly.

Overnight Pet Sitting

Overview:

Overnight sitters stay in the client's home to provide consistent care and companionship, maintaining the pet's normal routine and keeping the home secure. This is ideal for pets who need extra attention, medical support, or reassurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide all care: walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, and bedtime routine.
  • Administer medications as needed.
