Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Telemarketer / Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. This position is responsible for making outbound calls to retail sporting goods stores, gun shops, and birdwatching retailers to introduce our premium optical product line, generate interest, mail catalogs and establish strong business relationships that develop business sales. You will play a vital role in expanding our dealer network and supporting our overall sales strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make high-volume outbound calls to retail sporting goods and specialty stores across the U.S.
  • Introduce and promote our brand and premium optical products to potential retail partners
  • Build lead lists, qualify prospects, and identify key decision-makers
  • Schedule follow-up calls, virtual product demonstrations, or appointments for the external sales team
  • Accurately maintain records of outreach efforts, contact details, and outcomes in the CRM system
  • Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to support ongoing campaigns
  • Follow up on marketing-generated leads and trade show contacts
  • Coordinate with our external sales force to prioritize geographic areas and retail opportunities
  • Provide market feedback to help refine messaging, pricing strategies, and product positioning

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in telemarketing, inside sales, or business development (required)
  • Experience in hunting, birdwatching, or other outdoor recreational activities (required – one or the other)
  • Familiarity with riflescopes, binoculars, rangefinders, or spotting scopes (preferred)
  • Charismatic and excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls daily
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of the sporting goods, outdoor, or optics industry business (margins, terms) is a strong plus
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree preferred
