Job Overview

As the 

People

Manager, Social Signs at Social Llama Events, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing all aspects of our vinyl production processes. From quality control, inventory, and process, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of the sign shop team, contributing to the unique and high-quality branding experiences we offer. The People Manager serves as the bridge between leadership and the sign shop team—cultivating a positive culture of accountability, communication, and professional growth within the shop. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of large format print and installation professionals, including operators, finishers, and installers.
  • Manage staffing schedules, workload assignments, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that emphasizes collaboration, safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Help Provide training and mentorship on equipment use, production processes, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings to communicate expectations, address challenges, and align goals.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on recruiting, onboarding, and disciplinary processes.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the sign shop—managing job priorities, production timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Design teams to ensure accurate translation of creative files to production output.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and used in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Track material inventory, usage, and order needs to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, quality control standards, and project tracking systems.

Production Excellence

  • Uphold high-quality print and finishing standards across all substrates and media.
  • Troubleshoot print or finishing issues and implement process improvements.
  • Support installation planning and logistics for on-site graphics, signage, and environmental branding.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards and OSHA requirements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in production meetings and provide clear updates on project status, capacity, and potential risks.
  • Promote consistent communication channels across shifts and departments to ensure smooth handoffs and transparency.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency, training programs, and employee satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the evolution of production standards and SOP documentation.

Requirements

  • 3-5 year in a leadership or management role
  • 2+ Years in large format printing, graphics production, or event fabrication environment
  • Strong understanding of large format printing processes, substrates, finishing, and installation techniques.
  • Experience managing a production team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and develop team members' technical and professional growth.
  • Proficiency with print software and RIP systems (e.g., Onyx), and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace.
  • Must be located in the DFW area or relocating
