Job Summary
The
Engineer VI - Engineering Manager
applies a
thorough knowledge
of current engineering principles and practices across various aspects affecting the organization. This role utilizes expertise acquired through
progressive experience
to address
crucial issues
and
unique conditions
. The Engineer VI - Engineering Manager stays informed about
new methods
and
developments
, recommending
new practices
or changes in program emphasis while managing
programs of limited complexity and scope
.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Discipline Team: Manage and guide a technical discipline team within the organization.
- Technical Specialist: Serve as the technical specialist in applying advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with new developments and requirements, recommending changes in programs or applications.
- Project Coordination: Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficiency with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Possess advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
- 10+ years of prior experience required.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Master's degree or equivalent.
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, Etc.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Member of a professional practice organization, national board member or officer, or national technical or policy committee member.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise a staff of engineers and designers.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects, or oversee an entire program of the organization.
- Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
