Summary:

In this role, you will lead and develop a team of software engineers within the Internal Analytics function. You will oversee technical execution, promote engineering excellence, and ensure delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will guide tool selection, resource allocation, and best practices adoption, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. You will mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement, and align engineering activities with strategic analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical execution and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and standards.
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 15 software engineers, including senior-level staff.
  • Collaborate with product owners and clients to deliver scalable, high-quality software and analytics solutions on time and budget.
  • Resolve or remove technical and organizational blockers impacting team performance.
  • Provide oversight for implementation plans, architecture alignment, and coding standards.
  • Guide tool and technology selection for analytics engineering and integration.
  • Measure and enhance adoption of engineering practices across teams.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of engineering talent.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize team staffing and resource allocation to meet current and future business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in computer science, software engineering or related preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency with data and software technologies such as SQL, Python or PySpark, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) required.
  • Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies required.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design standards, and analytics engineering principles required.
  • Experience leading and managing software engineering teams highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
