We are seeking a senior hardware design engineer who is a self motivated problem solver, fluent in circuit and PCB design, with a strong background in power electronics and embedded systems. In this role you will define and develop hardware architectures for new products, ensure seamless integration with embedded software, and diagnose and resolve hardware issues. You will own the hardware life cycle from architecture and schematic capture through PCB layout, board bring up, validation, certification, and release to manufacturing, and you will collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, test, and operations teams to deliver robust, certifiable hardware at scale.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Define system and board level architecture and derive hardware requirements
  • Design and verify power, analog, digital circuits and PCB layout.
  • Lead prototype bring-up, lab validation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Plan and execute EVT, DVT, and PVT test activities and own EMC, ESD, and safety pre compliance and certification readiness.
  • Drive DFM and DFT with manufacturing partners and release BOMs, fabrication and assembly files, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with the firmware team to ensure seamless hardware and software integration, performance, and reliability.
  • Own sustaining engineering, including cost and obsolescence management and field issue triage.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of experience shipping board level products end to end.
  • Proficiency with PCB design software such as Altium Designer.
  • Strong background in power electronics.
  • Strong background in embedded system concepts.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers etc.)
  • Proficiency with tools for modeling and circuit analysis such as MATLAB, LTSpice, etc.
  • Experience in developing test plans and executing tests for hardware qualification, product certification and/or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in designing power inverters and switching mode power supplies topologies is a plus.
  • EMC and EMI design and pre-scan experience and familiarity with IEC, UL, and EN standards is a plus.
  • Experience with version control such as Git or SVN and structured issue tracking such as Jira is a plus.
