Senior Project Manager
for a
24+ month contract opportunity
at our client in the
King of Prussia, PA area
.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with internal and external customers, cross-functional staff and the project team to develop project scope and project plans
  • Uses project management skills to manage project roles, identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, provide customer satisfaction and reporting structures, manage project risk and insure quality of projects
  • Works closely with Project Manager from an external vendor to ensure project success
  • Identifies the technical approach to be used on a given project and manages the system development process
  • Delivers projects on time, within budgetary constraints and within negotiated scope.
  • Ensures effective communications and relationships between customers and project team members are maintained
  • Is responsible for ensuring project management practices, financial transactions, and project team activities are consistent with all corporate Policies, Standards and Procedures
  • Keep close contact with key customer representatives to ensure solutions are meeting their expectations and providing them with valuable information-sharing capabilities
  • Work closely with the end users, business technologists, and others to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs
  • Create and maintain the Microsoft Project Server Workplan. Charting as needed.
  • Review project proposals or plans to help determine time frame and procedures for accomplishing goals
  • Produce and implement a timely communications strategy that will effectively meet Stakeholders' information needs. Manage delivery logistics to project Stakeholders.
  • Break up work into phases that take into account resource availability
  • Manage scope creep within enterprise organization that is highly-regulated
  • Capital and expense budgeting and other financial responsibilities
  • Prepare status reports for management using Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Manage change effectively, with a long-term, big-picture lens
  • Collect and analyze feedback and lessons learned documentation
  • Perform project close-out activities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience to effectively manage multi-million dollar Information Technology projects
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage vendors that have a significant role in project delivery
  • Experience in multiple implementation methodologies a must (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to delegate and manage the competing interests of matrixed staff
  • Proven skill in managing risk with constrained projects (managing competing tension between budget, schedule, resources, and quality)
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience in presenting at multiple levels of the organization, from team meetings to executives
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Understands the importance of a good, well planned and executed roll-out of a product to internal or external clients, including support documentation and training, user training, and post roll-out issue management
  • Excellent financial management skills. Demonstrated experience in effectively estimating, managing variance to baseline, and reporting on project financial status, in addition to other project performance metrics
  • Good knowledge/proficiency in MS Project Professional or MS Project Server
  • The ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer expectations.
