JAbout the Role

We are seeking an Application Support Analyst to provide ongoing support, testing, and documentation for the DAVE application—a system used for collecting, registering, and issuing vital records in the State of Maine. This role focuses on User Acceptance Testing (UAT), issue tracking, system documentation, and vendor coordination to ensure smooth software upgrades and releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for bi-annual software releases (~1,200 scripts per cycle).
  • Use predefined scripts to validate functionality, document results in SharePoint, and log issues/bugs in Jira.
  • Identify, document, and track system issues; coordinate resolution with vendors and IT teams.
  • Evaluate system changes for functional and technical impacts; make recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews, impact analyses, and prioritization of enhancements.
  • Provide product support, responding to user inquiries and documenting solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing, issues, and enhancements in SharePoint.
  • Communicate status updates, test results, and defect severity accurately to stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements governing vital records.

Required Skills

  • Proven User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Jira preferred).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic system issues.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience supporting government applications or public sector systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute and track large volumes of test cases.
  • Customer-service orientation and effective problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
