Responsibilities:

  • Perform projects and assignments as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Assist the Applications Engineer on R&D projects and the testing required of the new products.
  • Maintain and operate all Lab equipment.
  • Provide back up support for the quality lab personnel.
  • Assist in performing calibrations of appropriate measuring devices.
  • Work with appropriate Alkegen personnel on R&D orders as they are being developed to ensure compliance.
  • Perform used bag analysis and prepare reports.
  • Perform new felt sample analysis and prepare reports.
  • Perform Internal Audits as assigned Assist in Gage R&R's for PPAPs.
  • Perform Patch checks on felt (weight, thickness, shrinkage, etc.)
  • Perform checks using the SEM, DSC, and FTIR lab equipment.
  • Perform paper checks for Jacob Holm product.
  • Perform incoming inspection on raw materials and assist in generating reports based on goods received.
  • Develop Work Instructions and testing parameters for new tests assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Perform Data Analysis as needed to Pareto Issues seen.
  • Perform vertical burn tests on FireBlock product Perform projects assigned by the Quality Manager such as follow up testing from customer complaints, PPAP development, and perform internal audits.
  • Assist in improving process efficiencies, quality, and safety.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in textile laboratory experience.
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy, Digital photography skills.
  • MS Suite (Excel, Word, Access) aptitude.
  • Strong excel proficiency required.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience highly preferred.
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred.
  • Good math and reading skills. Attention to details and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be proficient in NOS System, be a team player and Leadership skills.
  • Record organization and good verbal communication required.
