Position Overview
As a member of the Reentry team, the BSCC Workforce Development Coordinator provides comprehensive employment support services to individuals on parole, facilitating their successful reintegration into the workforce and community. This position involves assessing clients' employment readiness, developing individualized career plans, connecting participants with job training opportunities, and building relationships with local employers willing to hire formerly incarcerated individuals. The coordinator serves as a bridge between the parole population and employment resources, addressing barriers to employment while providing ongoing support throughout the job search and placement process. This role requires a commitment to reducing recidivism through meaningful workforce engagement and economic stability. This position will be filled contingent upon a criminal background clearance, possession of a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and educational transcripts.
Roles & Responsibilities
Program Management
- Design and implement workforce development programs tailored to local employment needs
- Coordinate training programs, workshops, and educational initiatives
- Track program outcomes and prepare progress reports
Client Services
- Assess job seekers' skills, experience, and career goals
- Provide career counseling and guidance on job search strategies
- Help clients develop resumes, cover letters, and interview skills
- Connect individuals with appropriate training programs or educational opportunities
- Assist with job placement and follow-up support
Employer Relations
- Conduct regular check-ins and employment visits to assess progress and needs
- Build relationships with local businesses and employers
- Identify hiring needs and workforce gaps in the community
- Participate in job fairs, recruitment events, and networking opportunities
- Serve as a liaison between employers and job training programs
Community Partnerships
- Collaborate with educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies
- Develop partnerships with training providers and certification programs
- Work with economic development organizations to understand local labor market trends
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and program participation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workforce development regulations
- Conduct outreach to promote services and recruit participants
- Adhere to confidentiality requirements and ethical standards
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze employment trends and labor market data
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make improvements
- Prepare reports for funding agencies and stakeholders

Essential Requirements
- Current driver's license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, as verified by law enforcement administration or other designated agency
- Provide educational transcript
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in workforce development or related field (preferred)
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and database management systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Fluency in English (bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable)
Physical Demands
- Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend hours
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, and move around for varying periods throughout the day
- Ability to work in a standard office environment with typical lighting, temperature, and noise levels
- Comfortable using standard office equipment including computers, phones, and printers
- Ability to sit for extended periods while completing administrative tasks
- Ability to safely navigate various workplace environments
- Comfortable working in diverse community settings
- Compliance with safety requirements including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
- Comfort level working independently in various settings without direct supervision
- Physical capability to carry materials, equipment, or documentation between sites (typically up to 25-30 pounds)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Work Environment
- Alternates between office, community, and employer sites.
- Travels regularly throughout the county to meet participants and employers.
- Works in indoor, outdoor, and employer environments, adapting to changing conditions.
- May occasionally work evenings or weekends for outreach or urgent needs.
