About the Role

The Workforce Development Coordinator supports the implementation and administration of the San Francisco SPCA's workforce development initiatives, including existing programs such as the Community Medicine Education Training (CoMET) Program and the Community Ambassador Program, and emerging programs, including the RVT Project. This role ensures smooth program operations, provides administrative and logistical support, and helps advance the SF SPCA's mission to build a robust pipeline of diverse candidates into animal welfare and clinical veterinary roles. This role will report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives & Institutional Giving and is considered a hybrid-remote position (approximately 2-3 days on site).

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of day-to-day logistics and project management for existing Workforce Development programs, including the CoMET and Community Ambassador programs, as well as emerging programs. This includes scheduling, communications, and tracking participant progress.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and training processes for CoMET interns, Community Ambassadors, and veterinarians in the VMTP and International Veterinarian Program.
  • Conduct research to support existing programs and resources and contribute to landscape assessments in launching new programs and to help identify future program strategy.
  • Assist with Workforce Development program documentation, data entry, and tracking of program metrics and outcomes.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, training opportunities, and community outreach events.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, evaluations, metrics, and budgets.
  • Assist with developing and updating training materials and program resources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure program alignment with SF SPCA goals and policies.
  • Support communications with community partners, participants, and SF SPCA staff to ensure effective coordination and engagement.
  • Support community outreach on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

Education and Experience (Required):

  • 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, workforce development, or nonprofit administration preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Comfort working in diverse communities and commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
  • Passion for the SF SPCA's mission and interest in animal welfare, community engagement, or education.

Salary & Benefits

The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. The expected range is $ $31.00 per hour.  Regular, full-time positions are eligible for a benefits package including
