The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring our team is positioned to deliver our customers' products according to defined specifications, resulting in good, consistent quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • QC and approve every job that prints whether it be digital or offset.
  • Print, cut, assemble mock-up proofs for every job that is QC'd
  • View, QC, approve every offset job for plating on screen before retuning jobs to CSR's, which includes check for trap, overprint, content, marks, color bars, screening, paper size, foils, etc.
  • Once approved, sending PDF proofs of each job to designated CSR.
  • Once approved by customer and CSR, plate every offset job printed at facility,which includes organizing plates in job order, bending each set of plates, and hanging plates together by job number on rack to deliver to the pressrooms.
  • Maintenance of Platesetter, which includes checking chemistry, loading plates, cleaning filters, empty plate punch, and whatever machine calls for.
  • Maintenance of Plate Processor on a daily basis, including keeping water jugs full at all times.
  • Cleaning and chemistry change of Plate Processor.

  • High School degree or equivalent required; Associate Degree or certificate in business or related field preferred
  • Printing experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable quality standards and can recognize quality defects
  • Good understanding of Excel
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization, customers, and outside vendors
  • Ability to learn our internal systems for data entry purposes
  • Self-motivated with a passion for job excellence
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordination.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
