Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Activities Coach to join our team, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for individuals in assisted living and long-term care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in recreational therapy, dementia care, and aging issues counseling. This role requires a compassionate approach to care, along with the ability to plan engaging events and activities that promote social interaction and well-being among residents.

Duties

  • Develop and implement recreational programs tailored to the needs of residents in assisted living and memory care facilities.
  • Plan and coordinate events that encourage social engagement and physical activity.
  • Provide support and guidance to residents facing aging issues, ensuring their emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Collaborate with social workers and healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans for residents.
  • Assist in training staff on best practices for dementia care and recreational therapy techniques.
  • Monitor resident participation in activities, gathering feedback to continually improve program offerings.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.

Experience

  • Previous experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
  • Background in assisted living, long-term care, or memory care settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with aging issues counseling and dementia care practices is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate care and support to residents.
