Edge Platform Engineer

Boldyn Networks US Operations LLC, New York, NY seeks Edge Platform Engineer - Provide software development expertise and support from technical project inception to post-release and have responsibility for the complete architecture and end-to-end quality of software and associated applications using programming languages and tools including VoLTE/VoNR SIP call flow, TCP Protocols, OSI Model and protocol analysis using Wireshark, Qualcomm tools including QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Snapper, modem programming and management using Qualcomm MSM Interface (QMI). Defining edge application development requirements as part of the development of the Private Networks platform. Acting as the subject matter expert on handsets, modems and end devices (User Equipment) that interact and integrate with 4G LTE and 5G NR cellular private networks to include programming of Android and iOS devices. Leading continuous systems integration efforts and delivery methods from inception to implementation to include use of 3GPP LTE and 3GPP 5G-NR SA architecture and data collection tools including Keysight Nemo, Actix, Windcatcher and XCAP/XCAL. Utilize strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to overcome the technical and performance challenges associated with developing the networks and product features for Boldyn USA's products, and creating acceptable solutions according to complex software application and system design specifications. Use 3GPP Specifications for RRC layers, NAS Timers, scripting languages including Python to design and develop technical specifications and testable software and applications for custom networks. Develop and define edge application development requirements as part of the development of the Private Networks platform for Boldyn USA in support of our Private Networks-as-a-Service platforms and services. Responsible for establishing requirements for monitoring, managing, and reporting on applications embedded on edge devices and/or handsets, including those that assess and report the health and performance of the network, while ensuring that such activities adhere to Boldyn USA's established development and configuration standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary product and architecture teams to provide the best solutions that meet company and client technical needs. Working collaboratively with network architects, software developers and product development professionals within Boldyn USA's Technology Group and across U.S.-based deployment teams. Working collaboratively with RAN, IP Network, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, and Packet Core Network architects and engineers to deliver a high-performance Private Networks Platform at the direction of the team Director. Assess the functional requirements gathered as an input to network design, prepare technical design documentation for such requirements, and work with the lab to configure, test, validate and certify new devices and configurations. Have responsibility for gathering requirements, writing functional specifications and developing technical designs. Configuring, testing, validating and certifying new UE (User Equipment) devices and configurations for accessing private cellular network services. Configuring and deploying wireless testbed systems, such as 4G LTE and 5G Integrated RAN, V-RAN and Open-RAN systems. Managing UE and device partners, including roadmap reviews and the development of internal UE and device roadmaps as part of Boldyn's Private Networks platform roadmap. Partnering with end-users to determine the overall requirements related to new projects and existing network enhancements. Interacting with end-users/stakeholders to determine the overall application or system requirements related to new projects and/or existing enhancements by compiling requirements, conducting design analyses and communicating results to the end- users/stakeholders. Converting functional requirements for application design and writing the technical design document for all the functional requirements. Establishing and evaluating functional requirements gathered for validity and economic feasibility and then communicating them to end-users. Creating and maintaining documents related to temporary and permanent fixes on the current failing product/job on a daily basis. Developing and implementing the final software solution. Test, correct errors and make necessary modifications to the company's systems architecture, software applications and/or associated programs. Required to conduct trial runs of platforms and services and thoroughly test and manage quality in order to identify any operational defects, resolve technical errors and ensure proper operation. Leading the performance testing to ensure stability and sustainability. Performing unit testing to verify logic of new or modified software applications or programs. Maintaining the development and test data environments by populating the data based on project requirements.

Requires Master's (or foreign equiv.) degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering discipline and three (3) yrs. experience in Job Offered or related occupation. Alternatively, will accept Bachelor's (or foreign equiv.) degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering discipline and five (5) yrs. (post-degree, progressive) experience in Job Offered or related occupation. Experience must have included Use of programming languages and tools including: VoLTE/VoNR SIP call flow, TCP Protocols, OSI Model and protocol analysis using Wireshark, Qualcomm tools including QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Snapper, modem programming and management using Qualcomm MSM Interface (QMI); Use of 3GPP Specifications for RRC layers, NAS Timers, scripting languages including Python; Use of 3GPP LTE and 3GPP 5G-NR SA architecture and data collection tools including Keysight Nemo, Actix, Windcatcher and XCAP/XCAL; Device/UE testing troubleshooting; and Programming of Android and iOS devices. $189,592/yr.
