Salary: $27.50 /hr. - $29.18/hr.

Job Summary:
The Medical Services Coordinator (MSC) provides medical case management for unaccompanied children in the Morrison ORR programs. The MSC works with health professionals regarding health and safety standards for residential care licensing requirements, disease reporting requirements, immunizations for children, injury prevention for children, medication management and knowledge of community health and mental health resources for children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates with primary care provider and other medical providers to ensure provision of health services for clients.
Makes referrals to specialty providers as necessary.
Schedules and completes paperwork for all medical appointments.
Manages all aspects of client medication to include administering medication to clients, ordering medication refills, preparing Medication Administration Records (MARs), and purchases medically related supplies for the program as needed.
Conducts Medication Administration training for all staff at the residential programs. Tracks completion of training and medication skills checklist, and monitors for annual renewals.
Conducts regular reviews of MARs for compliance and works with supervisors on training and coaching for staff when errors are identified.
Participate on the committee to conduct a root cause analysis when errors in medication administration occur.
Conducts Medication Room Quality and Safety checks in a manner that meets Joint Commission compliance requirements.
Coordinates implementation of communicable disease/isolation protocols, including timeframes for testing youth, symptom tracking, and movement between quarantine, isolation and medically cleared areas of the program. Works closely with healthcare provider to follow recommendations.
Utilizes the ORR electronic health records module to enter and upload all required medical information within required timeframe.
Maintains Medical Case Notes and communicates client medical needs to program staff.
Works closely with Case Management team to prepare clients for discharge from the program, including ensuring that the client has met all ORR medical requirements for release. Prepares follow-up medical care plans for sponsors.
Conducts onsite covid, pregnancy, drug testing, etc. utilizing approved over the counter test kits. Maintains proper documentation and tracking.
Follows significant Incident reporting protocols for any disclosures of abuse
Coordinate with other departments and providers to educate clients on reproductive health, nutrition, and other relevant health related topics
Coordinates insurance pre-approvals for medical services.
Provides transportation/supervision for youth to healthcare appointments as needed. Stays with clients during medical/dental procedures. Ensures questions related to the appointment are answered and addressed.
Completes, timely and accurate timesheets and other personnel/administrative records as required.
Demonstrate a commitment to learning and implementing the Sanctuary Model and other organizational policies and practices.
Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare organization.
Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of program/department.

Required Position Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of employment in a public health setting that includes demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, and/or direct clinical care AND any of the following:
Licensed practical or vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) or higher health-related qualification e.g., licensed registered nurse (RN) WITH a bachelor's degree.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal. Must clear a language proficiency test for Spanish.
Must be 21 years or older before first day of employment in position.
Basic computer skills
Preferred Position Qualifications: (Additional skills, experience, or education that are not required but would make a candidate especially well-suited for the job).
Experience in using electronic health records.
Employment experience in a health care setting, coordinating with medical providers, including scheduling appointments, uploading documents to electronic database, completing insurance pre-approvals.
Experience working in a residential setting.
Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency, peer influence, and related group and individual interventions.
Other Requirements:
Pass a criminal history background check though Morrison and a suitability determination investigation through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. For further information review :

Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned. Position may require work outside of usual work hours including evenings and weekends.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to drive a company vehicle.
Maintain current CPR and standard first aid certification.
Complete initial hire and annual training requirements per agency and program policy.
Working Conditions:
Environment: Work is done in clinical offices, community settings, including Morrison Residential, administration buildings, public locations, and social service sites. Breaks and meals are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants.
Mental demands: Work assigned is diverse and may involve addressing new and unique circumstances. The work might be unpredictable and disrupts planned tasks, requiring flexible time management.
Physical demands: Ability to remain calm and emotionally available serving youth, adults and or families who have experienced trauma. Proficient with office equipment and physical movement. Ability to perform physical interventions if needed in accordance with program and training. Physical dexterity for reaching, stooping, and repetitive wrist and hand motions.
