POSITION SUMMARY:
The Buyer is responsible for the purchasing of all raw materials and maintenance supplies, customer service, managing shipping and receiving, material planning.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Verify all orders for acceptance
- Order materials to support production schedule
- Purchase all raw materials
- Purchase machine components and maintenance supplies
- Maintain vendor list and ratings
- Customer service-complaints, inquiries, etc.
- Produce customer on-time delivery report
- Produce inventory reports for month end
- Manage all facets of shipping & receiving: shipping list, returns, personnel and truck drivers, etc.
- Manage all facets of material planning
- Utilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.
- Responsible to maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.'s owned by your position.
- Review of all procedures related to your job per "HR LG 01 Training Matrix"
- Completion within time stated of all training required by Job Description in "HR LG 01 Training Matrix"
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic office skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience / knowledge of using a ERP system
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-5 years' experience in purchasing
- Computer literacy (Primarily Microsoft Excel, Word and other pertinent software)
- Ability to work independently and under pressure doing several tasks simultaneously while setting priorities
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
- For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sit or stand as needed.
- Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
- Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
- Proper lifting techniques required.
- Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
- Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
